Following in grandma’s footsteps!

Hello friends,I started a while ago with putting my design ideas and “design likes” on Instagram. Over the years I haven’t been active with social media when it comes to interior design, so all this is new to me, but I love it! And constantly new ideas how I can communicate pop up in my head!

To start off, I wanted to show you that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!” Here is my grandmother and grandfather back in the 1930’s in Sweden! She is painting a picture, and she continued to produce art her whole life. A wonderful woman in many, many ways. She taught me how to paint pictures, how to paint on porcelain, and on silk when I was small.

The next picture is me giving an art history lesson at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. I had this job for 5 years and loved interpreting art and the interaction with art enthusiasts.

But what does art have to do with interior design? Well of course it’s all connected. Simply put: in my view understanding art means understanding life, and great interior design must understand both.

When I design a room, it’s a process where I consider the beauty of art in all kind of areas, as well as the importance of life and how we live. This is a topic I can develop more in future blog writings.

If you have any areas of interest you would like me to write about or a comment about blog posts, I would love to hear from you! You can reply here below or send me a private message on hdbmb@outlook.com
